While this might just be another way of hustling a beauty-conscious culture, the fact is there?s stiff competition to sell sildenafil (Viagra) over the Internet by some 86 distributers.

This is a prescription drug, folks, yet it?s being marketed for recreational use to enhance sexual pleasure. The Internet sellers require buyers to fill in a health profile prior to having an online physician approve your order, which makes the transaction legal.
However, ordering Viagra online is dangerous for several reasons, not the least of which are the serious side effects ? even death ? that can occur in men with certain health problems.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine documents that Viagra is readily available on the Internet without the need for a visit to a physician or review by a pharmacist. People who fill out the online forms often don?t understand the questions or medical significance ? such as the fact that mixing sildenafil with nitrates is deadly ? the study says.

Astonishingly, only 44 percent of the Internet sites required information about the use of nitrates before the respondent could submit the questionnaire. Of those, 27 percent mentioned nitrate agents by name, while the rest only mentioned nitrates in general terms.

Another study I recently told you about reveals that 15 percent of men who went to a clinic with sexual dysfunction symptoms were found to have cancer that might have otherwise gone undetected.

I think these studies reveal the obvious. If you want Viagra ? whether for sexual dysfunction or recreational reasons ? get it through your physician so the necessary safeguards are in place.
